Senior Professional Services Engineer
Dedigate is growing and the projects we deliver are becoming more complex, as customer requirements become more and more demanding. Our new Professional Services organization will provide high-quality project management, implementation processes and project delivery.
Job Description
You will be the technical expert for the department and will have a big role in the creation of our new Professional Services organization. You will be highly involved with implementation of complex projects or adjustments to current technical environments. You will work on a team with the Project Manager and other System Engineers. You will also be working independently on your own technical area within the project.
You will report to the Director of Professional Services.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Advise on all technical issues arising in a data center environment (this includes network, Unix and Windows troubleshooting)
Assist and coach engineers and project managers in any of the following fields:
Network & switch design, IP allocation schemes
Firewall installation and configuration
Setup of VPN tunnels
Solaris, Linux and Windows
Load balancing (Linux ipvsadm & Cisco layer7)
Linux clustering (using heartbeat and custom solutions)
Windows clustering, Windows Active Directory domain
Inter-data center connectivity
All types of hardware (networking and regular systems)
Security
Perform final Q&A checks on big customer environments before delivery
Continuously improve Professional Services methods and procedures
Upgrade procedures
Adjust internal technical processes
Improvement technology together with Engineering
Accept and test new products and technologies from Engineering
Technical Analyst
You will analyze the large customer environments, spot future bottlenecks and document recommendations for improvements.
Technical Skills
Work on a highly-skilled dedicated team for implementation projects. Work location in Gent
Proven technical analytical capacity
Support local and international customers during the implementation phase of the project
Provide technical support for the project manager during projects and customer meetings
Experience with an International company as senior engineer or technical manager related to projects or implementations
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Proven coaching experience
Proven solid understanding of the new Internet market
Excellent spoken and written English
Advanced and in-depth Unix knowledge with a proven track record for both Linux and Solaris.
Advanced Windows knowledge with a proven track record
Advanced TCP/IP knowledge (IP,TCP,ICMP) and familiar with routing protocols
Advanced experience with firewall software
Advanced experience with load balancing and VPN equipment
Upgrades our products via engineering and makes functional requirements proposals
React quickly on security issues
